A few days ago I drew attention to A.L. Nugey’s important, 1937 book Brewing Formulas, and his hand-drawn “compositive table” for some 16 beers. It is actually more since he gave alternate versions for most of the styles. The document is above for further detail.

Thanks for posting the link to the Nugey text. It’s fascinating to see how specs and processes have evolved over the last 80 years.
One question, though. Do you know anything about the “Quebec Ale” referred to in the table? It is by far the lowest gravity in the table and a bit of an outlier.
Doug, thanks, good question, my thinking is, it might have been a “semi-temperance” beer, possibly sold in WW I. The other Canadian beers shown had very respectable abv, over 5%.
